Washing machine pedestal

General information

We are manufacturer of pedestals for washing machines and dryers. The frame of the washing machine base consists of specially made Z-profiles with a material thickness of 3mm. The circumferential supporting surface of the washing machine base has a width of 55mm. This ensures that the machine always rests with its adjustable feet in the washing machine substructure. The feet of the washing machine frame consist of a stable quad wire tube with a cross section of 30mm and a wall thickness of 2mm. These are completely welded together. With the reinforced washing machine base this has 20x20mm cross struts in the lower area of the quad wire tube, depending on the variant. From a base height of 40cm this is additionally reinforced with gusset plates. The washing machine bases are powder-coated in RAL9010 white. All products are self made.

Fits the machine into the washing machine pedestal

Customers often ask whether the washing machine also fits into the washing machine underframe. The manufacturer's specifications for washing machines or dryers are always maximum dimensions. This is in the depth the head plate of the washing machine. Washing machines taper downwards so that the depth of the washing machine is sufficient for the washing machine underframe. The depth in the relevant area, measured at the bottom, is usually between 48cm and 58cm. Everything below 58cm fits into the washing machine underframe. If, despite all checks, the machine does not fit into the washing machine base, you can return it within the four-week return period. All washing machines or dryers, which are described with a width of 60cm, fit into our washing machine underframe. The width of the machines themselves varies between 58cm and 60cm.

Advantages washing machine pedestal

There are several reasons why customers choose a washing machine substructure.

For example, prevention of water damage is important for customers in flood-prone areas.

For people who have back problems, the washing machine substructure is a relief of the intervertebral discs.

In buildings where the drain for the waste water is located at a height of more than 85cm, a washing machine substructure is the alternative to a hoist. Since the pump of the washing machine usually does not pump over the height of the washing machine, the washing machine must be changed in height. Here the use of a washing machine base is the solution.

Low washing machine pedestal are taken, if the customer attaches importance to clean under the washing machine, or evenly the washing machine before the leaky neighbour machine to protect.

Washing machine pedestal fully welded

Our washing machine pedestal is one of the few on the market that is completely welded. The advantage is that the constant movements do not loosen any screws. By the complete welding of the washing machine pedestal the whole system is more stable. Another advantage of the welded washing machine pedestal is a very low assembly effort.

Quality of washing machine pedestal

We process only high-quality materials from the European Community. Our washing machine bases are tested for static and dynamic loads and meet the necessary requirements. All washing machine pedestals are subjected to another quality check before delivery. Only specially manufactured packaging that meets the requirements of the shipping service providers is used for shipping.

Customer opinions

To enable our customers to evaluate their opinions on quality, delivery and order processing, we have introduced an evaluation system. In addition, we have a link on the shop home page to the Ebay platform where you can view reviews of our products on Ebay.

Different heights of the washing machine pedestal

Regarding the height of the washing machine base, our variety offers heights from 12 - 65cm. You have to decide which height is the right one for you. Please note that with the high washing machine base, the washing powder must also be poured into the upper drawer. Assuming you have a body height of 1.6 m and choose a 65 cm washing machine base, the height of the drawer for the washing powder is approx. 1.5 m, which is then no longer visible when filling. At our highest washing machine pedestal this must be fastened with holders, which serve for wall mounting. Usually such washing machine platforms are used when the drain is very high or the operator is very large.

Possibility of height adjustment of the plinths

For the washing machine frame we use a uniform system of height adjustment elements. The washing machine frame consists of four threaded plugs and four adjustable feet. In our production, the threaded plugs are inserted into the legs of the washing machine frame. The threaded plugs are made of a polyamide using the spraying process and can withstand loads of up to 300 kg per threaded plug. There is a metric thread M8 in the threaded plug. The adjusting feet are screwed into the washing machine frame by the operator. The adjustable feet are made of polyamide, the threaded bolts of galvanized steel. The threaded bolt has a metric thread M8 and is 40mm long. If longer feet are needed for the washing machine frame, we have the length 50mm in stock. The additional price for the longer adjustment foot is Euro 2,50 per piece. The maximum load per adjustable foot is 400kg.

Pull-out shelf for the washing machine pedestal

A washing machine frame of the same height with shelf does not differ, except for the shelf, from a frame without shelf. The extendable shelf of the washing machine frame consists essentially of a tray pull-out and a melamine-coated chipboard. According to the manufacturer, the shelf pull-out built into the washing machine frame can withstand dynamic loads of up to 35 kg. However, since two points on each side are used to fasten the frame to the washing machine, we have reduced the maximum load to 20kg. This is sufficient for a maximum laundry filling in wet condition. On the right side of the washing machine frame you can adjust the width up to 2mm. To do this, turn the plastic part under the front roller. Via an exender the game adjusts itself. A double notch in the pull-out fixes the shelf when pulled out. One pulls out the shelf until one notices a resistance and then pulls the shelf over this resistance. Now the shelf should be locked. The tray pull-out has a self-closing mechanism. If you push the shelf into the washing machine frame, it runs the last 30mm over an incline into the end position. Like the washing machine frame, the tray pull-out is also powder-coated in white. The solid rollers are made of special plastic (Delrin). The melamine-coated chipboard rests on the profile of the pull-out shelf and is ready screwed on when delivered.

Load capacity of the washing machine pedestal

The load capacity of the washing machine substructure includes the static and dynamic load. For washing machines, we generally recommend the reinforced version of the washing machine base. Heavy washing machines have an empty weight of more than 90 kg, plus the laundry filling and the water. So we have a total load of approx. 125kg. If the washing machine would not swing (e.g. when spinning), then a washing machine base up to 150kg load capacity would be sufficient. However, since dynamic forces occur with every washing machine, the reinforced variant is to be used here.  In combination with the wall brackets, the load capacity of the washing machine base increases.

Function of the washing machine pedestal

If you place a washing machine on a washing machine stand, you should not expect the washing machine to swing as if it were standing on the floor. A washing machine underframe vibrates to a certain extent and thus also increases the vibration of the washing machine. There are more than a thousand washing machine models on the market and each behaves differently on the same washing machine underframe. Also, one and the same model of washing machine behaves differently on different heights of a washing machine underframe. Likewise also the soil condition and the gradient of the soil, regarding the function, are influencing factors. So one can never say with certainty that a washing machine underframe works perfectly for a washing machine model. Rejections due to non-fulfilled function are less than 0.2%. That is 2 out of 1000 washing machine underframes.

Measures for vibration damping

Of course, there are possibilities to reduce the vibrations that occur during the washing process. One of them is to make the underframe of the washing machine even more stable and thus to increase the stiffness. Such washing machine underframes, the so-called reinforced variants, which are then also loadable up to 200kg, can be found in our shop. Another possibility to reduce vibrations is the use of rubber vibration elements. So rubber rings are included in the delivery of the washing machine underframe, for the integration in the adjustable feet. The most effective way to reduce vibrations, however, is to use the specially manufactured wall brackets.

Mounting the washing machine pedestal

When a washing machine base is delivered, the following parts still have to be assembled: four adjustable feet, four rubber electrodes, four double-sided adhesive electrodes and, depending on the variant, a pull-out shelf.

The feet must be adjusted unloaded. For the adjustment you need a fork wrench with the wrench width 13mm. By turning it clockwise, the adjusting foot can be turned out of the washing machine frame. However, all adjustment feet should be completely screwed into the washing machine frame before starting adjustment. This ensures that the adjustment feet are screwed in as far as possible. The adjustment feet must be screwed at least 20mm into the washing machine frame, so that also the max. load capacity is ensured. After alignment with the spirit level, the rubber electrodes must be inserted into the leveling feet and the four adhesive electrodes glued on. Now remove the second protective layer from the adhesive rounds and return the washing machine base to the marked position. If the floor consists of a screed, the adhesive blanks will not hold. Here we recommend to use our wall brackets. You can find them in our shop.

With the washing machine pedestal with the extendable shelf one threads these into the washing machine pedestal. To do this, hold the tray so that the angle profile of the rails is at the bottom. One then holds the shelf in front to the washing machine base diagonally downwards and places the rollers in the counter rail at the washing machine base. While one lowers the shelf into the horizontal, one pushes these equally into the washing machine pedestal.

Mounting the wall brackets

Example: Art. 2027

The wall brackets are hung on the feet in the upper part of the washing machine platform and drilled into the wall. The washing machine pedestal is then positioned with the frame edge 45mm away from the wall. With the front edge it is 625mm. If your washing machine has a depth of more than 625mm, or you have to stay further away from the wall due to piping, we also offer wall brackets in other dimensions. Between the wall brackets and the washing machine pedestal a rubber profile is used as vibration element. Two wall brackets are always used, which are attached to the washing machine pedestal as far up as possible and dowelled to the wall. The use of the wall brackets has two positive effects: on the one hand, the vibration damping in the upper area of the washing machine pedestal significantly reduces the vibrations of the entire system, and on the other hand, it prevents the washing machine from moving with the washing machine pedestal. The double-sided PE adhesive probes no longer have to be used here. Of course, there are articles on the open market such as damping mats or similar to reduce vibrations. These have not been tested on our part and therefore cannot be recommended.

In order to prevent the washing machine platform from moving, it is also possible to fix the washing machine platform by means of floor screw plates made of polyamide. Here the floor screw plates with a diameter of 38mm are fixed to the floor with screws. Now you simply place the washing machine pedestal on the floor screw plates; thus the whole thing is held by positive locking. This possibility would be the option, if one can use neither adhesive probes nor wall holders.
